My story

From a busy mind to the woods

I've always had a busy mind. I have ADD, and for years I struggled with the idea of sitting still, eyes closed, trying to empty my head. Meditation and mindfulness felt like something other people could do.

Then I noticed that outside, it just happened. Walking through woodland, listening to birdsong, feeling the ground under my boots, my mind went quiet without my even trying. My whole body settled, and I came home to a part of myself I hadn't realised I'd lost. Nature became my doorway into meditation, and today it's a practice I love, indoors and out. That's why I help each person find the way in that works for them.

That experience shapes everything I do. I believe we evolved as expert hunter-gatherers, reading the land with every sense, and our bodies still remember. For me, nature isn't a nice extra. It's where we're built to feel well.

My work

More than 20 years of helping people under pressure

Before I qualified as a counsellor, I worked as a Mental Health Mentor for university students and as a Learning Mentor, supporting young people with emotional regulation, confidence and wellbeing. That early work still shapes how I understand people under pressure.

For the last 10 years I've worked as a counsellor, and today I work online with adults and young adults. I bring life coaching alongside counselling, so our work can both hold space and build momentum.

I also run Woodland Classroom with my husband, helping people connect with nature through hands-on outdoor experiences. I've run wellbeing groups for Wrexham council and led talks and workshops at festivals. And I'm a mum, so I know what it's like to juggle a lot of roles and lose sight of yourself along the way.

Lea combines genuine candour with empathy and encouragement, creating a space that feels both supportive and motivating.
